An NGO trains young people in project management

Jos – The Justice Development and Peace Commission (JDPC) of the Catholic Archdiocese of Jos organized a training on Project Cycle Management (PCM) for some selected young people, known as “Pluralism Actors” of the Plateau . Declaring the workshop open Wednesday in Jos, Rev. Basil Kassam, the project manager, said the training is part of his “Pluralism Stakeholder Incubators in Nigeria” project. Kassam said the project, supported by Pharos Observatory, a French organization, is being implemented in 12 communities in six local authorities. Plateau and Bauchi State regions. He added that the Pharos Observatory is currently supporting similar projects in Niger, Burkina Faso and Mali. The official explained that the project would largely target young people, aged between 18 and 30, with the aim of -escalating conflicts in the communities “This project aims to provide tangible support for the construction of a coexistence peace in conflict-affected communities” The project will look more deeply into aspects of the religious and cultural dimensions of conflict in order to intensify social cohesion. “It is designed to provide solutions to the religious and cultural conflicts that we are currently going through. “So this training is part of the preparation towards the proper implementation of the projects in the communities,” he said. Kassam explained that the participants were from the 20 organizations that formed a network that collectively implement the project in the beneficiary communities. , the participants would understand the concept of GCP and how to apply it in the design and development of project proposals aimed at promote pluralism. He also said that the training will equip and broaden the scope of knowledge of participants on project management and implementation. and transmit the knowledge gained to others in their organizations for the effective implementation and appropriate for the project.(NAN)(
