Marquis Health Consulting Services Enhances SNF Urgent Service Model

Marquis Health Consulting Services of Brick recently introduced an enhanced SNF urgent service model to support its clients in skilled nursing facilities as they strive to meet the changing needs of their regional healthcare partners.

The program responds to industry demand for expanded direct admission solutions, providing an alternative for patients who do not meet acute care admission criteria but require – or would benefit from supervision or stabilization by skilled nursing care.

Marquis’ Urgent SNF initiative is designed to respond to a range of diagnoses, signs and symptoms, including new medical conditions as well as the exacerbation or change of existing conditions.

“Marquis’ expanded urgent SNF service is a direct response to the call from overburdened hospital systems for additional support in delivering quality patient care,” Jennifer Hertzog, vice president of marketing and business development, Mid- Atlantic, for the Brick-based retirement home consulting firm, said. “The enhanced service model provides 24/7 access to patient placement and provides an alternative to home care in the event of staff shortages, which has become more common due to pressure from the pandemic on health systems.”

The services are personalized by each establishment; accommodations typically include cardiology, pulmonology, and other specialty care services, as well as multidisciplinary therapy services, available seven days a week, as prescribed by a physician. Patients benefit from a welcoming environment offering a range of life-enriching activities, as well as support with transition planning and post-discharge follow-up.

“The program, which was originally established five years ago, supports the Marquis belief — and a global expectation in health care — for the right delivery of care in the right place at the right time,” Hertzog added. “The response from our customer installations involved in the beta program has been incredibly enthusiastic. They saw clear benefits for their healthcare partners and patients, as well as for the patients’ caregivers.
