PRESS RELEASE: ZTE Corporation announced that it has won two project management awards from Project Management Institute (PMI) China. The company wins the PMO of the Year Award for ZTE’s Engineering Services PMO (esPMO) and Project Excellence Award for its P3 Project in the Philippines at the PMI (China) Project Management Awards 2021.

The PMI (China) Project Management Awards were launched in 2010 with the aim of stimulating the development of Chinese companies’ best project management practices, promoting excellent companies and projects with successful experiences in project management. . During the three months of evaluations, the evaluation committee selected the participating companies and carried out on-site inspections of the selected companies.

ZTE was voted the winner of the PMI (China) PMO of the Year award for the second time since 2015 for the esPMO, which aims at building the project management system for global network services and realizing the ” Three Ones”.

The “Three Ones” establish a set of project management mechanisms in line with the enterprise’s business development, build a project management system that satisfies the efficient operation of business and management, and build a management team professional and excellent project manager to become a leader in the field of network services project management in the communications industry.

With more than 30 years of exploration and practice, ZTE esPMO has formed an enterprise-adaptable project management methodology and a mature project governance mechanism at the organization level. ZTE has also independently developed a unique, organization-level digital project management system, the Intelligent Engineering Project Management System (iEPMS), to realize a real-time, collaborative project delivery process. , intelligent and visual, while improving project management efficiency and supporting high-quality and efficient project delivery in the VUCA era.

In addition, ZTE esPMO has implemented the “813 Ability Model” for project managers based on comprehensive qualifications, business capabilities and practical experience. With this model, a mature talent selection, nurturing, and retention mechanism can be built to create a high-quality project management team. The mature mechanism, efficient system and excellent talents provide strong support for ZTE to ensure the successful delivery of more than 10,000 projects globally.

The Philippines P3 project is one of ZTE’s most representative project practices in the field of project management. Facing various challenges and difficulties such as strict standards, complex services and frequent disasters amid the pandemic in a tight engineering schedule, ZTE’s project team started from scratch and spent 18 months working hard to have finally succeeded in the first phase of construction of all sites, optical cables and data centers.

The annual scale of network deployment of the P3 project refreshed the local network construction record and the project also set the record for the fastest commercial network usage in the Philippines. Based on the innovative practice of this project, ZTE has refined a set of management methods suitable for large-scale overseas turnkey network deployment projects, called AMB (Ability, Method, and Business Continuity Management) . The essence of the AMB project management method is to focus on the key elements of a project like the talent team, the business and the risks.

In the future, ZTE will continue to be customer-centric and fully promote the digital and intelligent construction of project management to provide efficient project management support for global network deployment, boost economy digital and winning together in the digital age.
